To create and maintain an environment that allows clubs, coaches and trainers the opportunity to provide players and parents at the U8 level an advanced education on the game of soccer, maintain their interest and introduce them to a travel soccer experience.

Players gain exposure to advanced training and competition
Parents are introduced to an advanced soccer environment in preparation for potential future travel commitment while developing their knowledge of teh game (including sportsmanship and support for the children)
Clubs are able to identify, certify and develop future travel coaches committed to the game and to the individual players.
Coaches are provided the rare early opportunity to develop players prior to travel.
Referees are provided a training ground for officiating advanced players.

· Advanced technical training by certified coaches and trainers (provided by the clubs).
· Small-sided games – FIFA rules modified to give players more touches.
· Age-specific activities - activities based on the player’s ability and capacity for learning.

· Positive guidance and role models to build sporting character and respect for the game.
Where do players come from?
Players usually are invited to participate via mass club communication or later via personal contact after being evaluated during your club’s recreational program during the season.
Create teams based on the number of interested players who might benefit from the program and the number of available and capable coaches.
Choose players based on the latest recommendations from US Youth Soccer.
Terms of Team Participation:
Players must be registered with VYSA (via the Recreational league registration).
Use of carded travel players is prohibited, regardless of age.
Age group is U8 (refer to team application for birth dates)
Team Registration:
Email the completed application to the Crossover Commissioner
Mail a copy of the application, along with the team fee (refer to team application for the amount), to the address listed on the application.
Application must be submitted by the deadline (refer to application).
Player Registration:
Flexible roster - add eligible plaeyrs as they are needed
For insurance purposes, players must be registered with VYSA through their local recreational program. Each club is responsible for ensuring this and assumes any risk associated with using uninsured players.

Carded travel players are prohibited. This program is intended for educating players interested in "crossing over" to travel, not winning matches.
