VSA is very proud to provide TOPSoccer as a free program for children with learning and or physical disabilities. TOPSoccer provides a safe, fun and inclusive environment for children with developmental issues to enjoy soccer. If you’re not familiar with TOPS, please visit our website at VSA TOPSoccer for more information or watch our video of VSA children enjoying TOPSoccer VSA TOPSoccer Video .
We practice inside the Vint Hill Gym (just over the Prince William border in Fauquier County) on Saturday mornings starting September, 12. In order to accommodate the large demand for this program, we will hold two Saturday sessions based on skill level. Beginners practice at 10am and the more experienced athletes practice at 11am.
TOPSoccer is the game for all kids! All VSA athletes and coaches are welcome to drop in and participate at a practice. Children with disabilities do best when they are given the opportunity to participate in inclusive activities. Accordingly, youth volunteers from VSA’s recreation and travel teams are encouraged to practice their soccer skills alongside the TOPS athletes. Please visit our website to see the list of outstanding young people that have earned the TOPSoccer Youth Volunteer of the Year Award.
Although TOPS is a free program, we do require that all VSA TOPSoccer athletes register through the VSA website. Please contact Coach John Schlenker at PiedmontTOPSoccer@gmail.com if you have any questions or would like to become a TOPSoccer volunteer. If you know a family that might benefit from this program, please pass this message along.
