(Haymarket, VA) VSA is excited to announce our new grassroots year round programming initiative that will continue to move the club's recreation program forward. The new initiatives will improve player development at all levels and age groups and provide more opportunities to experience and enjoy the game of soccer.
Starting this summer, VSA will offer opportunities for recreational players to PLAY more soccer in a well organized and structured environment led by VSA's technical staff. This includes the introduction of 3 new programs: Summer/Winter Practice and Play sessions, Friday Night Lights, and Annual Camps/Clinics.
"A key objective for the club in 2021-22 is to expand our reach into our grassroots program. The importance of recreation soccer is very often overlooked and taken for granted. Our aim is to provide additional opportunities and support for both players and coaches to grow their enjoyment and passion for the sport," Matt Lacey Executive Director.
All players start in recreation from Elite, High School, College, Professional, or Adult leagues. For all of these players it starts with falling in love with the game, which starts at the grassroots level. The expansion of grassroots programming opportunities is another way to continue to grow the LOVE of the game.
“This expansion will allow recreational players to grow on AND off the field with this community-based program. We are looking to provide a more driven, passionate, and exciting pathway for our recreational program," Steve Hoover, Director of Player Development (Grassroots).
