VSA Continues to Invest in Zone 1 Staff with New Staff Additions

VSA is excited to announce the additions of Mike DiNizzo and Christian Powers along with the realignment of roles and responsibilities to improve player development in zone 1.

Mike DiNizzo will be joining the club as Zone 1 Assistant Technical Director (U11/U12) working with Zone 1 Technical Director Nick Foglesong and Zone 1 Assistant Technical Director Miles Rapp (U9/U10). Mike will be responsible for implementing the VSA talent development plan and coaching methodology at the U11 and U12 age groups.

“I’m thrilled to be joining VSA and look forward to contributing to the already fantastic youth development environment that the club has created,” Mike Dinuzzo.

Within the realignment of Zone 1 staffing, Miles Rapp will now be responsible for the running the VDA West Pre-ECNL Program.

“We are very happy that Mike will be working with our zone 1 coaches and players. He has extensive experience working with U9-U12 players in Northern Virginia. With his combined experience and knowledge from working with Elite players at VDA the past 2 years, he will have a clear understanding of how to prepare our players for the next level,” Matt Lacey, Executive Director.

VSA will be introducing the new role of player development coordinator who will be responsible for enhancement of communication and organization of our player development programs in recreation and travel soccer. Christian Powers will be taking on this role who is coming to us from Culpeper Soccer Club and JMU (Student Volunteer Assistant).

“Christian is a young coach who is enthusiastic to learn and develop as a coach and leader in youth soccer. He has valuable experience already in youth soccer and has shown that he is ready for the next step in his career,” Matt Lacey, Executive Director.
