VSA Adds Next Generation of Coaches to Technical Staff

VSA Adds Next Generation of Coaches to Technical Staff

(Haymarket, VA) Over the past 6 years, VSA has had a rich history of promoting and developing young coaches, through personal development and an extensive in-house coaching education program.

We are very proud of the platform we have created for our coaches to grow and chase their aspirations at the club. Coaches like Dustin Butcher (Executive Director, Blue Ridge United), Fro Adu (Director of Coaching and Player Development, Culpeper Soccer), Dale Parker (Appalachian FC), and Alex Herrera (ECNL Director, VDA) are great examples of the club's focus on developing coaches and leaders who have continued to impact the soccer community in their new roles.

In 2021 we are excited to introduce and announce the next generation of coaches who will be joining the club in our newly created mentorship program. Jov Hall, Miles Rapp, Alyssa Tallent & Antonio Bachmann will aim to build on and continue to establish VSA as the top standard of youth development in the region.

"We are very happy to be able to promote Jov, Miles, and Alyssa, as well as to hire Antonio. We believe that it is important to invest in talented people and then provide them with a pathway to develop into a top level coach and leader. The club has been part of developing some of the very best young soccer leaders in the area. We look forward to helping this new crop on their journey and watching the impact they will have on our players and club" Matt Lacey, Executive Director.

Jov, Miles, and Alyssa are currently working within VSA's Jr Academy and will have primary roles within the day to day operations of our Jr Academy program as Assistant Directors of Player Development. Antonio Bachmann will join the club assisting our Directors of Coaching in the U11 and U12 age categories.

Jov Hall will become the club's first Director of ADP and Assistant Director of Player Development. He will be responsible for the development of the ADP U5-U8 program. Jov, who is a Winchester native has collegiate playing experience, most recently earned his USSF C license, alongside serving internships with DC United.

Miles Rapp will become a club Assistant Director of Player Development focusing on the development of our Grassroots programs. Miles' experience includes captaining NCAA division 1 Winthrop Eagles, is a C license candidate, and has represented Chesterfield United within the NPSL.

Alyssa Tallent joins the club in the role of Girls Assistant Director of Player Development. Alyssa has a decorated playing career already, representing NCAA D1 VCU, and playing professionally in Finland with IK Myran. Alyssa's impact already in ADP and the Jr Academy has been outstanding, providing a much needed role model for young girls to dream and aspire towards.

Antonio Bachmann's journey from player to coach comes full circle now as he represented VSA as a player during his youth career. Antonio holds a USSF C License, has playing experience within NCAA div 1 school WVU, and also represented the VDA U23 team. Antonio most recently has worked in West Virginia, at Mountaineer United Soccer Club, helping oversee the zone 1 age groups. Antonio will play a key role in our zone 1 programming at VSA.

Director of Player Development Benjy Slator had this to say "To have talented people join your organization is always exciting, but to have talented people who are driven to improve themselves daily is a special environment to have. Already with having Jov, Miles, and Alyssa working with us brings exciting energy, and to add someone with Antonio's ability is amazing. I am thrilled to work with all four of them, and see their hard work come to fruition on and off the field."

VSA is always moving forward, and in this case, with the next generation of "best in class" young coaches.
