VSA Announces Strategic Realignment of Roles and Responsibilities

VSA is proud to announce the strategic realignment of roles and responsibilities for the 2024-2025 season to continue to support the growth and development of competitive programming at the club.

The realignment will increase focus in coaching development along with the continued evolution of VSA’s player development initiatives. This will see the introduction of Boys and Girls Technical Directors of Coaching Development along with the introduction of Head’s of Player Development in the U13-U19 age groups

“We have had great success in the past 10 years developing the club and spent time over the past 4 months evaluating areas that we can be more productive in. An important area that will really help the players is supporting the development of our coaches to provide them continued support in implementing our talent development plan and methodology” Matt Lacey, Executive Director.

Benjy Slator (Boys) and Tim Krout (Girls) will take on the responsibilities of Technical Directors of Coaching Development. They will focus on coach and team development by implementing the Talent Development Plan and Coaching Methodology.

“During our evaluation process we also saw an opportunity to expand the work we have been doing to improve the focus of our individual development program. By separating the focus of our Directors we will be able to be more effective in how we track and implement all player development initiatives within the club” Matt Lacey, Executive Director.

Steve Hoover (Boys) and Alyssa Tallent (Girls) will take on the responsibilities of Head of Player Development. They will focus on individual development within the team with a heavy focus on the implementation of Individual Development Plans, Individual Player Tracking, and the College Recruitment Process. This will be a well deserved promotion for Alyssa Tallent starting in the fall of 2024.
