VSA releases new structure and program guides for 2022-23

(Haymarket, VA) VSA is excited to announce the 2022-23 staff structure that welcomes new and current staff members into exciting roles for the future in player development at VSA. The club has invested heavily in our Zone 1 programming U8-U12 along with adding experience and energy into our U13-U19 programming and teams.

“Each year we spend a lot of time looking at how we can grow and improve all levels of VSA from our VDA ECNL /VSA ECNL RL teams to our VSA grassroots programming. This year is no different and we believe we have looked at the best practices in USA/Europe to create better transitional development from 7v7 to 9v9 and 9v9 to 11v11. Each of these zones will have a clear focus on individual development through increased management on the implementation of curriculum” Matt Lacey, Executive Director

The objective of the structure change is to provide better transition and development in Zone 1 from 4v4 to 7v7 and 7v7 to 9v9. Providing clear roles and oversight will allow staff to continue to have better contact time and implement the club wide curriculum with all teams in their age groups. In the older age groups U13 and above the focus to create pathways to the next level becomes vital so we are excited to see what work we can do to produce players for high school and college.

“We are excited to continue to develop staff members and provide opportunities for career growth at VSA. When we started this project 7-8 years ago we had a clear vision of developing quality staff members to provide better oversight and player development opportunities for all of our players. We now have a great track record of developing Directors that provide our members with a quality experience and every year we get more enthusiastic about developing from within” Matt Lacey, Executive Director

This will see new roles for Nick Foglesong, Steve Hoover, and Tim Krout along with the promotion of Chad Mateer, Jov Hall, Miles Rapp, and Alyssa Tallent into full time roles. The club will also welcome Antonio Bachmann and Lauren Marcum to the staff in important Director roles to match the club vision for increased oversight and player development.
