VSA Says Farewell to Alex Saunders

VSA Says Farewell to Alex Saunders

Virginia Soccer Association wants to thank and wish Alex Saunders the best of luck as he moves on to the next stage of his career. Alex has been with VSA for the past four years working as a coach and administrative staff member. Alex and his wife Haley will be heading back west towards family and joining San Diego Surf as a staff coach.

"We are very happy for Alex and his wife Haley. They have a great opportunity to move closer to family and career-wise Alex is joining a quality club in San Diego Surf. Alex has been an asset to the club and we have enjoyed seeing him develop as a person and coach. He has had a positive impact on the players he has coached and the relationships he has built with our staff and parents. I speak on behalf of all of the staff at VSA and we wish him the very best of luck in San Diego and we are all excited to see him continue his career in youth soccer" Matt Lacey, Executive Director

"The past four years at VSA have been some fondest and most formative years of my life. This club has been the perfect home for my wife and me. We will truly cherish the relationships that we have built with the VSA membership, staff, and players, and I cannot thank everyone at VSA, PWSI, and VDA for the support they have shown me and my family over the years.

Most importantly I would like to thank the players; they have taught me more than I could ever hope to teach them, and I am excited to see the young adults they become. And yes I will be officially retiring my red and white hat."

Good luck Alex and all of us at VSA wish you all the best!
