Virginia Soccer Association (Haymarket, VA) —VSA is pleased to welcome three additions to our ECNL Regional League coaching staff. Graham Maclean, David Quinn, and Ryan Flesch will be leading teams in our ECNL Regional League program for the 2021-2022 season.
We are excited to be welcoming back Graham Maclean (USSF A License) who will be returning to VSA after spending time coaching for Loudoun Soccer Club with the ECNL teams. Prior to his time at Loudoun, Coach Maclean spent time at VSA as a Director of Coaching, playing an integral part in moving the club forward and leading multiple groups to national events. He has many years of experience as a technical director and coaching director, and we look forward to the wealth of knowledge he will bring to VSA once again.
David Quinn (UEFA C License) has been a part of our staff for the past five years leading many of our Premier boys teams to success on and off the field along with being instrumental in the process of helping players commit to college soccer. The former U18 Irish International player came to the US to play at George Mason and has now dedicated his time to coaching. He carries a multitude of licenses and has over a decade of experience coaching in the youth game. We look forward to seeing Coach Quinn now on our ECNL RL staff.
Finally, we welcome Ryan Flesch (USSF C License) to VSA as an ECNL RL Head Coach along with being part of the club’s Technical Staff. Coach Flesch was a standout player in the area who took his talents to William & Mary (DI) where he was a four-year starter and captain. After playing, he started gathering his coaching licenses while coaching for Richmond United ECNL, State ODP, and assisting with VSA and VDA. Coach Flesch is currently the head coach for Osbourn Park High School Girls and we know that he will be a valuable addition to our coaching lineup and club.
“We are extremely excited to be adding three quality coaches to our coaching staff for the 2021-22 season. More importantly, the success of the club has been built on good people who share the same values and character traits on/off the field and all three of these coaches exemplify this. The foundations of the club have been built at the ECNL, ECNL RL, and Premier levels over the past 5 years, now we look forward to the next 5 years leading player development by holding a higher standard for our coaches which ultimately aids the players and teams,” says Matt Lacey, Executive Director.
Bronson Gambale, Director of Coaching (U15-U19G), believes these coaches are what our groups will need to grow this year on and off the field. “All three coaches have a wealth of knowledge, experience, and raise the level for all of our staff,” says Coach Gambale. “We are looking forward to a great year with them.”
